Marta Guy is a San Francisco-based artist whose work explores the intersection of identity, perception, and representation. Discovering photography in high school, she pursued fine art and new media through university and post-graduate degrees. Her journey living and working around the world began in Micronesia where she served in the Peace Corps documenting the cultural practices of the local people, ultimately taking her through life in Chicago, Seoul, Milan, and London.
Marta Guy’s creative work is characterized by a sense of wonder and curiosity. Through layering photographic images, collage, and printmaking techniques, she develops visual narratives that blur the lines between the personal and the universal, highlighting the gap between subjective perception and truly realistic representation.
Alongside her artistic practice, Marta Guy has made her living as a 'corporate creative' in experience strategy and human-centered design. Working across industries including healthcare and financial services, she strives to create new offerings that support people to live prosperous, healthy, and just lives.
She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and rescue dog, where she's inspired by the cultural history and natural beauty of California.
